...in the middle of your 200+ person astronomy lecture, someone's cell phone goes off to the Superman theme. And instead of silencing it, he answers, saying, "Hello?" Then, "Lois Lane is in trouble? I'll save her!" He proceeds to leap up, rip off his jacket, under which he has concealed his Superman costume, complete with red underwear over blue leggings. Someone else in the classroom shouts, "It's a bird, it's a plane!" as Superman runs down the length of the Chemistry Auditorium and out the door at the front of the classroom, next to your completely bemused (and amused) professor. There is some stunned laughter, then a round of hearty applause. And with that, your professor smiles, says, "I have no idea what that was about," and returns to his lecture.
Yes, this actually happened. Truly the definition of a WTF moment if there ever was one.
